Sabah Binte Noor, PhD

Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, DUET, Gazipur

Dr. Sabah Binte Noor is an Assistant Professor at DUET, where she has been a faculty member since 2013. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from DUET, an M.Sc. in CSE from BUET, and a B.Sc. from MIST. Her research expertise includes AI Planning and Heuristics, Algorithms, and deep learning. Her recent work focuses on enhancing flexibility and concurrency in partial-order plans through plan decomposition and refinement. With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Noor has taught more than 15 undergraduate and graduate courses, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Simulation and Modeling, Data Structures, Theory of Computation, and Neural Networks. She has supervised 21 undergraduate thesis students and continues mentoring several others in AI-related projects. Dr. Noor has led and contributed to multiple UGC-funded projects, such as university timetabling using constraint programming, automated payroll systems, workflow management platforms, and AI-powered complaint management systems—many of which have been successfully deployed at DUET. She also serves as a reviewer for several international conferences and has participated in organizing academic contests and events. Dr. Noor is committed to advancing intelligent systems that solve practical challenges in education, governance, and automation.
